Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition (HTS2S)
LEGISLATION
HTS2S has chosen Legislative Advocacy as a primary way to shape the environment in which our youth develop. The coalition will empower its members and partner with other organizations to establish and/or maintain open lives of communication with elected officials. It is our goal to compel elected officials to sponsor, support or oppose bills that would discourage youth drug youth if passed. We are particularly interested in legislation that affects our youth use of marijuana, alcohol, opioid and E-nicotine devices.

DRUG TAKE BACK
Board members of HTS2S consistently volunteer for the Attorney General’s Drug Take Back Events. The Drug Take Back Events raise awareness about the dangers of not disposing of excess prescription drugs appropriately. The events help participants learn how to safely dispose of prescription drugs and provide them with home kits to do so. The events are consistently successful and leads to truck loads of prescription drugs being collected. Otherwise, they would be available for improper consumption by youth or even pets.
