Coalition Meetings
Henrico Too Smart 2 Start Coalition Meetings are the third Friday of every month from 12:00p to 1:30p. They are held at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave, Henrico, VA 23223. The purpose of our meeting is for community members, community leaders and organizations of all types of Henrico County to share ideas, exchange information and collaborate on youth substance use reduction initiatives.

Youth Advisory Committee
HTS2S is committed to having youth involved in every aspect of our development and as a key part of the initiatives in which we are involved. HTS2S new youth advisory committee will help the organization stay abreast of youth views on substance use as well as help us create effective initiatives. The advisory committee will be youth led. It will provide the youth with a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, serve the community, learn a lot about advocacy and have fun.
The committee is designed for 9th through 12th grade Henrico County youth, with the goal of promoting leadership competencies that will position youth to positively promote change in their community. The advisory committee will meet monthly, receive leadership and prevention training in environmental strategies, and have representation at the Too Smart 2 Start Coalition meetings. Town Hall Meetings
Henrico’s Too Smart 2 Start’s It Takes a Village Town Hall is the organization’s annual community conversation about how the community can work together to significantly reduce youth substance use. On March 29, 2018 from 6p to 8p, HTS2S presented the results of our study of youth substance views and use in Henrico County.
A key portion of the presentation was to explain which behaviors teens and parents are currently engaging that significantly reduces the chance of youth substance youth, “Protective Factors.” The event was located at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave, Henrico, VA 23223. We hosted another event in the Autumn of 2018 to continue educating the community about the Protective Factors that will increase our youth’s probability of staying on the right track.
